Dr. Rahul Sharma, professor and chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine, recently delivered a presentation at the 20th anniversary celebration of the Weill Cornell Medicine Dean’s Council. The presentation focused on the various ways the Department is changing medicine by reimagining and transforming emergency care delivery and expanding care options to patients beyond the hospital walls through telemedicine and virtual healthcare. Dr. Sharma also touched on the impact of the elevation to full academic department status on the department’s growth, the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects, physician burnout, and innovation in medicine.
