Medical Education Fellowship

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Weill Cornell is accepting applications for its Medical Education Fellowship.

The Fellowship is designed to prepare emergency medicine residency-trained physicians for a career as a clinical educator, scholar and administrative leader in medical education. The program requires 20 clinical hours per week for 47 weeks at Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City.

Funded Enrichment

  • Master’s in Education funded by the Department (Two-year fellowship)
  • MERC at CORD – ($2,000/conference for three conferences)
  • ACEP Teaching Fellowship

Medical Education

  • Integration into Medical School and GME committees
  • Earn Medical Education Research Certificate from AAMC
  • Participate in various interdisciplinary medical education activities for residents, NP/PAs, nurses
  • Heavy emphasis on medical student teaching at MS2-4 levels
  • Co-lead medical education Journal Club
  • Co-lead medical education senior track
  • Simulation training/education

Residency Leadership Training

  • Participate in the Program Evaluation Committee (PEC) and Clinical Competency Committee (CCC)
  • Create and lead didactics for weekly residency conference

Grantsmanship and Development

  • NYP-sponsored research skills lectures/workshops
  • Mentorship in writing and submitting education grants
  • Mentored reviewer for academic EM journals

Academic Products

  • Develop education portfolio and assist in monitoring portfolios of faculty
  • Complete and submit for publication at least one publication / year
  • Complete and submit one grant application
  • Give one Grand Rounds presentation at Weill Cornell and one at another institution
