It gives us great pleasure to announce Jennine McAuley, PA-C as the recipient of the second annual Jose L. Fernandez, MD Compassionate Care Award. Jennine, one of our senior physician assistants, worked closely with Jose for many years. She embodies the values that Jose cared about, including providing excellent and compassionate care to our patients. Jennine was presented with the award at our residency graduation dinner.
Jennine started at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in the Spring of 2009 with the first group of physician assistants hired in the Department of Emergency Medicine. Over the past 13 years, she has participated in many departmental projects, including assisting in the annual CME conference and as the Director of the Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Residency Program. Jennine recently joined the Vulnerable Elder Protection Team (VEPT) as a care provider.
We, as Jose's friends and colleagues, dearly miss him and are keen on perpetuating his memory and honoring his amazing contributions to the Emergency Department and, most importantly, to his patients. Jennine is most deserving of this meaningful award in Jose's name. Congratulations to Jennine!
