Dr. Sophia Lin is the winner of the 2021 New York American College of Emergency Physicians (NYACEP) New Speaker Award. This annual award is presented at NYACEP’s New Speaker Forum and is awarded to attending physicians who have demonstrated a high potential to lecture at the national level.
The New Speaker Forum is designed for physicians who are considering professional speaking and would like to gain experience. This year’s theme was “Best Practices in Emergency Medicine”, and Dr. Lin’s topic was “POCUS in Pediatric Patients”.
Dr. Lin is an assistant professor of clinical emergency medicine and an assistant professor of clinical pediatrics. She also serves as director of emergency medicine ultrasound. Dr. Lin completed her medical degree at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. She then completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of California at San Francisco and a second residency in emergency medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
The winner of the award will be offered a lecture presentation and complementary registration at the 2021 Scientific Assembly.
