Dr. Rahul Sharma, professor and chairman, Department of Emergency Medicine, is the 2020 recipient of the American College of Emergency Physicians’ (ACEP) Innovative Change in Practice Management Award. This annual award recognizes an emergency physician who has developed an innovative process, solution, technology or product to solve a significant problem in the practice of emergency medicine. Recipients of the award must have developed an innovation that improves the practice of emergency medicine by improving the efficiency, patient safety and/or quality of care in the emergency department.
Accepting the award, Dr. Sharma, a healthcare innovator and thought leader in the field of telemedicine, reiterated his commitment to advancing pioneering changes in healthcare delivery models and thanked his outstanding team of emergency department faculty and staff for their hard work and support in delivering exceptional and innovative patient care.
