Dr. Robert Tanouye has been accepted to NewYork-Presbyterian Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) Academy for the 2020-2021 academic year.
The LEAD Academy is a highly competitive 13-month program that aims to cultivate physician leaders. The program draws on the knowledge and experience of nationally renowned experts from Columbia Business School and Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Curriculum courses include Information Technology, Health Economics, Analytics & Managerial Decision-Making, TPF Health System Simulation, and Healthcare Marketing. The LEAD Academy also provides professional mentorship, institutional networking, and an applied practicum with an NYP-prioritized capstone project. Physicians who complete the program are prepared to take on leadership positions within the NYP health system. The LEAD Academy begins July 14th, 2020.
Dr. Robert Tanouye currently serves as associate director of NYP/Lower Manhattan Hospital Emergency Department, associate director of Healthcare Leadership and Management Fellowship, and assistant director of Healthcare Leadership and Management Scholars Program. He serves as the Department of Emergency Medicine's physician scheduler for over 80 faculty and 80,000 annual hours.
Dr. Tanouye received his MD/MBA degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at New York Presbyterian-University Hospitals of Columbia and Cornell.
