Neil Patel, MD Named 2023 New York ACEP Unsung Hero

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Neil Patel on being named one of the 2023 New York American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Unsung Heroes.
Dr. Patel, Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine, has had a profound and multi-faceted impact on the Department of Emergency Medicine. As a full-time nocturnist, he has not only consistently delivered exemplary patient care but has also taken on the role of a clinician-educator with remarkable dedication. Dr. Patel goes beyond the traditional scope of his duties by creating a dynamic learning environment during overnight hours. He incorporates high-yield learning activities into resident training to ensure their engagement, and provides constructive feedback and helpful resources to help them advance in their careers.
Dr. Patel received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his emergency medicine residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Cornell & Columbia.
The New York ACEP Unsung Hero of Emergency Medicine award is given to EM physicians who go beyond simply being the embodiment of what it means to be an EM physician. They are, among other things, stalwarts of the ED who are deeply committed to the mission of the emergency department, their colleagues, co-workers and patients.
