Dr. Mark Curato Selected as Faculty Scholar in Health Equity

Dr. Mark Curato has been selected to participate in the second cohort of the Faculty Scholars in Health Equity, which is a health equity education training program administered through the Cornell Center for Health Equity and the Diversity Center of Excellence.

The goal of the program is to create a group of teaching faculty as institutional leaders in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curricula designed to improve the integration of training in health equity and cultural competence across the entire spectrum of medical education at Weill Cornell Medicine. The second cohort of scholars is made up of faculty involved in pre-medical, clinical, and postgraduate level education. The program begins in November 2020 and runs through November 2021.

Dr. Curato serves as the Assistant Director of the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency Program and is the Director of the Medical Student Sub-Internship in Emergency Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University, his medical degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his residency training in Emergency Medicine at St. Barnabas Hospital.
