Dr. Maria Lame Receives 2020-2021 Jeanne and Herbert Siegel Award for Excellence in Emergency Medicine

Dr. Maria Lame is the 2020-2021 recipient of the Jeanne and Herbert Siegel Award for Excellence in Emergency Medicine. Dr. Lame was recognized for her demonstration of clinical excellence, professional achievement, innovation, and dedication to the field of Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Lame is an assistant professor of clinical emergency medicine and assistant professor of clinical pediatrics in the Department of Emergency Medicine. She is also the associate director of pediatric emergency telemedicine. In addition to her academic and clinical roles, Dr. Lame is actively engaged in the Department’s research and simulation programs.  She also serves as the Department’s diversity champion and plays a key role in departmental and institutional initiatives on diversity and equity.

Dr. Lame graduated from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University College of Medicine and completed her Pediatric residency training at Jacobi Medical Center.  Dr. Lame subsequently completed a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at New York University School of Medicine/Bellevue Hospital Center.
