Dr. Kaushal Shah Promoted to Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Kaushal Shah on his promotion to Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Shah joined the Emergency Department at Weill Cornell Medicine in 2018 as the Vice Chair of Education. As Vice Chair, he oversees, leads and develops all educational programs for the department, including faculty, resident, fellow, medical student, physician assistant and nurse practitioner education. He is also the Assistant Dean of Academic Advising for the medical college, where he is responsible for the development and ongoing management of academic advising for all medical students.

Dr. Shah earned his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School, and completed his residency through the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency program at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Prior to his role at Weill Cornell, Dr. Shah was the Vice Chair of Education and the Residency Program Director for the Department of Emergency Medicine at Mount Sinai.

In recognition of his educational contributions nationally, Dr. Shah has received the NY ACEP Physician of the Year Award, the EMRA Residency Director of the Year Award, the AOA Fellowship in Leadership Award, and the CORD Distinguished Educator Award. He is presently serving his third term on the Board of Directors of NY ACEP after being Chair of the Education Committee for many years.
