Dr. Kaushal Shah Elected to New York ACEP Board of Directors

Dr. Kaushal Shah was recently elected to the New York American College of Emergency Physicians (New York ACEP) Board of Directors (BoD). Dr. Shah’s term began on July 9, 2020 and will continue for a period of three years.

As a member of the BoD, Dr. Shah will assist with developing goals and policies, set future directions for the chapter, approve annual budgets, and elect officers and councilors. He will also serve as a role model for other emergency medicine physicians on how to mentor junior attendings and encourage their involvement in chapter activities. Dr. Shah previously served as chair of NY ACEP Education Committee and served two terms as a BoD member.

New York ACEP represents over 3,100 dedicated professionals. Its mission is to support quality emergency medical care and to promote the interest of emergency physicians. New York ACEP strives to promote efficient and effective utilization practices in the delivery of emergency services.

Dr. Shah joined WCM in 2018 and currently serves as Vice Chair of Education for the Department of Emergency Medicine. He has also held positions as Vice Chair of Education and Residency Program Director for the Department of Emergency Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. Nationally, he is well-known for his leadership in emergency medicine education and has extensive experience in undergraduate education and faculty development.
