The Department of Emergency Medicine is pleased to announce the 2019 Healthcare Leadership & Management (HLM) Scholars. The HLM Scholars program exposes rising second year Weill Cornell medical students to senior management and various aspects of healthcare management.
This year’s scholars are:
Dora Chen, a graduate of Princeton University with a concentration in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and a certificate in Astrobiology;
Gregory Han, a graduate of Amherst College with a BA in Biochemistry & Biophysics;
Sam Rashkovich, a graduate of Dartmouth College with a major in Japanese Language and Literature and a minor in Biology; and
Xiaohan Ying, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with an undergraduate degree in business with a concentration in Healthcare Management and Policy.
The scholars will spend an 8-week period over the summer learning about hospital administration and finance; clinical quality and patient safety; and policymaking and clinical operations management.
The Healthcare Leadership & Management Scholars program was established in 2016 and was endowed by the Istela-Begala family. To date 11 students have participated in the program.
