Geriatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship

The GEM Fellowship is a unique one or two-year, non-ACGME-accredited fellowship designed for recent Emergency Medicine Residency graduates to develop an enhanced skill set and innovative strategies to optimally care for the increasingly large geriatric population who require emergency care.

Curriculum

The GEM Fellowship program provides (1) interdisciplinary training in the unique needs of the geriatric patient who requires emergency care, and (2) residency-trained Emergency Physicians with the fundamental skills required to build both a teaching and research career in GEM through collaboration with the Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital's Weill Cornell Medical Center. The comprehensive clinical, research, and educational curriculum will enable the GEM Fellow to become a leader in this exciting new academic discipline. The two-year track allows the Fellow to concurrently obtain a Masters in Clinical Investigation and Health Services Research.
