Dr. Rahul Sharma, Professor and Chair, Department of Emergency Medicine, Founder and Executive Director, Weill Cornell Medicine Center for Virtual Care, was recently a guest on the New England Journal of Medicine Catalyst podcast. Dr. Sharma discussed the importance of telemedicine training in today’s changing healthcare landscape and how the Center for Virtual Care is at the forefront of implementing telemedicine training for medical students.
“Physicians have historically trained only to deal with patients in person, but that’s no longer practical in today’s health care landscape,” said Dr. Sharma. “We used to teach proper bedside manner; it’s now equally important for physicians to learn 'webside' manner.”
