Center for Virtual Care Faculty Retreat: Reflecting and Aligning for the Next Phase

The Center for Virtual Care (CVC) faculty retreat brought together colleagues across Weill Cornell Medicine's mission of Care, Discover, and Teach for a thoughtful discussion on the evolution of the Center and its work.

The conversation highlighted the breadth of activity underway across the CVC, from clinical innovation and research to education and partnership development. Faculty shared ongoing efforts and perspectives, demonstrating the depth of expertise and commitment across the group.

A consistent theme throughout the day was the value of continued alignment. As the scope of work grows, there is clear opportunity to further connect efforts across domains, ensuring that initiatives benefit from shared insights, collaboration and coordination wherever possible.

The discussion also reflected the dynamic nature of virtual care as a field. Participants noted the importance of maintaining flexibility while continuing to refine how this work is defined and communicated, both within the institution and to external audiences.

Education was recognized as an area of strength, with ongoing efforts to expand reach and enhance learning experiences for clinicians and trainees. At the same time, faculty noted the importance of continued support and collaboration to sustain and scale this work effectively.

The group also stressed the importance of visibility both in terms of highlighting ongoing work and ensuring that contributions across the CVC are recognized within broader academic and institutional frameworks.

Overall, the retreat marked an important moment of reflection for the CVC. With a strong foundation in place, the discussion focused on how to continue building in a way that is coordinated, sustainable and responsive to the evolving landscape of virtual care.
