The 17th Annual Clinical Updates in Emergency Medicine Conference, hosted by the WCM Emergency Department Advanced Practice Provider group, is a two-day event aimed at educating emergency medicine providers on core emergency medicine topics, procedures, and simulations. The conference welcomes physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and students of all interdisciplinary groups to attend. The 17th Annual Clinical Updates in Emergency Medicine Conference is an annual conference organaized and presented by the Weill Cornell Emergency Medicine Staff designed to provide updates in clinically relevant emergency medicine topics as well as refreshing hands on procedural knowledge for current staff and learning new skills for students and newer staff across multiple specialities. The first day of conference will be an in person procedural day during which there will be six stations that participants will rotate through. There will be a cardiac simulation as well as a medical simulation which will mimic a real clinical scenario, allowing participants to think through cases in real time. Other stations include difficult airway, a lumbar puncture, paracentesis and arthocentesis station, ultrasound as well as a case based discussion station. The second day of conference will consist of both in person and virtual learners for a lecture day presented by our emergency department staff. Topics anticipated include antibiotic usage in the emergency department by one of our ED pharmacists, updates in trauma, toxicology topics, pediatric emergencies, vasopressor and ventilator management, fundamentals and troubleshooting of pacemakers.
