Dr. Mark Curato Elected to NYACEP Board of Directors

Dr. Mark Curato has been elected to the New York American College of Emergency Physicians (NYACEP) Board of Directors (BoD). Dr. Curato’s term begins July, 2021 and will continue for a period of three years.

As a member of the BoD, Dr. Curato’s responsibilities will include assisting with developing goals and policies, setting future directions for the chapter, approving annual budgets, and electing officers and councillors. He will also serve as a role model and mentor to other emergency medicine physicians and junior attendings. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Curato served as an NYACEP councillor.

NYACEP represents more than 3,100 dedicated professionals. Its mission is to support quality emergency medical care and to promote the interest of emergency physicians. NYACEP strives to promote efficient and effective utilization practices in the delivery of emergency services.

Dr. Curato is an assistant professor of clinical emergency medicine. He also serves as director of the sub-internship in emergency medicine, director of the required clerkship in emergency medicine and as assistant residency director of the emergency medicine training program. Dr. Curato earned his medical degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency training in emergency medicine at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, NY.
